The 5 Most Instagrammable Spots in Barcelona
Back in October, I received a text from my friend Karina telling me that she found a roundtrip flight from NYC-Barcelona for just $350 on Delta, and asked me if I wanted to go. Having not been to Europe in 8 years, and never having been to Barcelona, I immediately said YES! The timing of it all ended up being crazy; I had just been to Jamaica, had to move apartments the day after I got back from there, and then I flew to Barcelona just 4 days after that!! I almost backed out because of the stress, but I’m SO glad I didn’t! We had such an amazing time in Barcelona. It has amazingly cheap food, super friendly people, and is the perfect mix of city and beach. We spent just 3 days there, so the time flew by, but we did our best to see all of the sights. If you have only a few days in Barcelona like we did, make sure you visit these top 5 places- and of course, snap some pics for the gram!
1. Sagrada Familia
Sagrada Familia is one of Gaudi’s most famous architectures! It can be difficult to get a photo without a lot of people in the background, so head up to Hotel Ayre’s rooftop bar for a perfectly clear shot. Bonus points if you do it at sunset!
2. Parc de Ciutadella
In the center of this park, you’ll find a stunning lake and fountain, with gleaming golden statues towering above! Snap a pic, and then go check out the zoo or have a picnic! This park is the perfect place to spend the day.
3. Arc de Triomf
Just like Paris, Barcelona has it’s very own Arc de Triomf! Luckily, unlike that of Paris, you don’t have to run through traffic for a photo. But it is still very crowded – if you want a clean shot make sure you get there early in the morning. As you can tell, we did not!
4. Barceloneta Beach
The best part about Barcelona is that it’s the perfect mix between the city & the beach! Make sure you hit up the coast – particularly the W Hotel – to get some epic shots!
5. Barcelona Cathedral
& Finally, you can’t miss this majestic gothic cathedral! Once again, it’s a huge tourist attraction- so get there early if you prefer to avoid that 😉
