Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by! My name is Steffie. I’m a New York City-based influencer, model, and handbag designer.
My journey within the fashion industry began when I started modeling at the age of 13 in my hometown of Atlanta. I started out doing local projects for up and coming designers such as Azede Jean Pierre, and even gracing the cover of Justine Magazine. As soon as I turned 16 my agency deemed I was old enough to start traveling and off I went! I started out in Hong Kong, then NYC, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong again finally settling down in NYC!
Throughout my years of modeling around the world, I gained invaluable knowledge about the fashion industry.
I have been fortunate enough to work with the likes of Zac Posen and even shoot with Lara Stone. As I grew older I decided I wanted to take this knowledge and create something of my own. So together with my Mom, we launched Alles Bags – handbags designed for the Girl on the Go. It was right around this time that influencers were becoming buzzworthy and I was fascinated. We did a few influencer campaigns and were shocked to see how effective it could be! I couldn’t help but be fascinated – these women were essentially modeling just as I had but on their own terms. They were the models, creative directors, stylists, and some of them even their own photographers! It was the modeling industry but on a more pure & honest level. With modeling, you get a time and a place to show up and usually have no clue what will happen or if you’ll even be comfortable with it. Being an influencer or a content creator is the exact opposite. You can work with brands you love and create works of art all on your own terms!
As the influencer industry continued to grow I decided to give it a shot myself.
With the strategies I learned both in the modeling and fashion industry I was able to grow an audience, and eventually attract brands. Since I began my career as an influencer I have been lucky enough to work with companies like Google, Macy’s, Netflix, & many more! I wanted to extend my platform beyond just photos and captions, thus this blog was born. Steffie in the City will serve as a resource for all things fashion, travel, & NYC!
